run a job without the laser being on to see where the printable area is?


  • I find I do this on almost all of the jobs I run.
    The process I use is outlined below:

    I create a border in Cut2D, generally a rectangle 5-10mm larger on all sides then the extents of the actual job.
    For this path I leave the laser at the speed I use to engrave the material used (when engraving at 100% power) but instead use a power setting of 10%.
    On many materials this results in a barely visable line, which can then be used as a guide to shift the material slightly if required.
